Dr. Oliver Terna Iorhemen joined the University of Northern British Columbia as an Assistant Professor in Environmental Engineering on August 1, 2021. He obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering specialisation) from the University of Calgary, AB. He also received his MSc (Eng) in Environmental Engineering and Project Management from the University of Leeds, UK and B.Eng in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria.

Dr. Iorhemen’s research interests include biological wastewater treatment, wastewater biorefinery, removal of contaminants of emerging concern, and development of cost-effective water treatment technologies for application in rural, remote, and small communities. Dr. Iorhemen has participated in both university – municipality and university – industry collaborative research as well as multi-university research projects projects.
