Dr. Iorhemen’s research lies in the field of Environmental Engineering with a specific focus on biological wastewater treatment, wastewater reclamation and reuse, nutrient removal, removal of contaminants of emerging concern from wastewater, rural water supply and sanitation, and resource recovery.
Current research projects include the recovery of various resource streams from aerobic granular sludge (AGS), applications of AGS for brewery wastewater, biofilter applications for rural water supply, and constructed wetland use in colder climates.
